Mother Nature was kind to us in 2011, providing a mellow and dry summer. Our block of Sauvignon Blanc in Knights Valley sits at the foot of the magnificent Mt. Saint Helena. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from a block that takes longer to ripen but has a superior mouthfeel. Grapes were harvested the last days of September. South African Sauvignon Blanc yeast was used to ferment at cold temperatures which contributed to the grapefruit and passion fruit aromas.
Golden straw in color. Lemon zest, grapefruit, lemon thyme, lily flower and light mint with hints of white peach. Emulating the nose, the palate of bright grapefruit, lemon and white peach carries a touch of minerality accompanied by a vibrant mouthfeel resulting in a medium-bodied, crisp wine.
