2012 vintage conditions were exceptional overall. The volcanic soils at the foot of Mt. St. Helena mitigated the effects of the dry year. Meticulous leaf removal allowed light into the canopy while still protecting the clusters from sunburn. Finally, for two weeks in August, a dense fog cover allowed the Sauvignon to develop full flavor maturity at a slow rate.

White melon and white nectarine peel mingle with intriguing saline notes and white slate, with fennel leaves, spearmint, lime zest and white lily filling out the background. The mouthfeel is both broad and lifted, with a supple texture framed by vivacious acidity.
